Innovative Solutions For One Health
What is the One Health Approach?
All organisms that can interact in our world (human, plant, animal, microorganism, etc.) affect each other in many ways. One of the new concepts that emerged as a result of these interactions is One Health. One Health is an approach developed to regulate the interaction of species in terms of health. What this approach considers is not only human health, but also the health of other living things that may affect human health.
Why? and How?
Increasing world population brings with it many responsibilities and needs. Access to nutrition and clean drinking water, which is the most basic need, has entered a difficult process with the increase in population. More people means more livestock, more crops, more production and therefore more resource consumption. These increases mean that species interact more with each other. While we want to feed our population, we also consume resources disproportionately. We are creating a world with global warming, famine, drought and unfavorable for all species.
So what does this congestion bring with it?
Can we say that other species exposed to species-specific disease agents also get sick? We can say that we have seen this frequently in the last few decades. AIDS, Swine Flu, Avian Flu and last one Covid-19 are some popular animal-human diseases. If we pay attention, we can realize that there are animals that people come into contact with a lot. Another issue is the rapid and easy spread with the developing global transfer network.
Market
The size of the global veterinary diagnostics market reached the value of 4.4 billion USD in 2018 and is expected to reach 9.5 billion USD by 2026, which indicates a compound annual growth rate of 10.0%. The consequences of Covid-19 pandemic and global warming may surely expand the size of the market.

Samplingf

All diagnostic kits produced in our lab are tested with CDC-approved protocols concerning proper sampling and cultivation. We aim to reach not only the healthcare professionals at Point-of-Care Units but also the ordinary people. Although the sampling protocols of our kits are suitable also for the early detection of infections, many sampling protocols are engaged in specific quarantine measures and local authority guidelines.

Application and Duration

Our user-friendly diagnostic kits are fast and easy-to-apply. They detect specific proteins or nucleic acids and thus confirm the presence of microbial agents in the test samples. Results are available within 5 to 35 minutes after testing.

TESTs at Home

Our rapid antigen kits are easy-to-use kits that require no professional background by the end users. In addition, our production line (ISO13485/2016) using CE-certified raw material is also suitable for Point-of-Care testing.

TESTs for Professional Labs

Our fluorometric LAMP assay kits are suitable for laboratories with qPCR equipment. It is known that many broad-host-range viruses have differential cites of methylation on their genome. Application of nucleic acid extractions or PCR cycles may breakdown their genome which eventually hinder proper diagnosis. Cycle-free fluorometric LAMP assays developed in our lab are reliable solutions to these diagnostic problems through targeting thermodynamically-stable regions of genomes.

TESTs for Small Labs

Small laboratories or veterinary clinics lacking state-of-art machines, like qPCRs, are also noteworthy for fighting and managing infections. Trio-ANARD kits are suitable for small microbiology laboratories having only heat blocks. Cycle-free amplification coupled with product detection cassettes is highly specific and fitting for the early detection of infectious agents. To support and ensure the effectiveness of pathogen management and control teams (PMTs), we need to utilize every potential microbiology office. Our kits are created with a tremendous amount of time with field teams and small offices to supply their multiple demands.

What is A-NARD?

A-NARD (Amplified Nucleic Acid Rapid Detection) is a relatively new diagnostic method that provides fast and reliable results through detection of the genomic material amplified with LAMP (Loop-associated Isothermal Amplification) method. It is based on rapid detection of the amplified genetic material with specific antibodies on lateral flow strips, with high accuracy. So, basically, the A-NARD method is the combination of two methods: LAMP and Lateral Flow tests. A-NARD method requires neither DNA isolation nor any additional equipment for the visualization of the results and gives comparable results to PCR with shorter time and lower costs, which are both important advantages for the laboratories. In addition, following the rapid and sensitive results obtained with the LAMP method, visualization of the results on lateral flow strip bands makes the method more reliable for the interpretation of results, which may indicate the presence of a life-threatening infection in the patient.

Advantages of A-NARD

A-NARD basically improves the visualization of the initial results obtained with LAMP method with the combination of a lateral flow assay; this yields higher sensitivity and specificity. Addition of NARD Buffer to the products obtained by LAMP can give highly accurate results on the lateral flow strip within minutes, either as positive or negative. A-NARD is relatively cheaper, faster and easier-to-apply compared to other methods used in the molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases.
